Internet Safety: Safe Surfing Tips

Internet is really helpful. Some people can’t even live without it, but it can be very dangerous if you don’t surf following some basic rules. Watch the following video with ten safe-surfing tips for teenagers.

Activity 3: Visit Safety Land and learn how to stay safe surfing the Internet.

Team project: Make a poster or a video with a slogan for Internet safety, include also some of the tips to surf the Internet in a safe way or the main Internet threats and images. You can make this project using construction paper, or in a digital poster using the Glogster website (send me the link) or a video using Windows Movie Maker or any other software to make videos.

Remember: Explore, learn and create using your imagination! That is how we must learn in order to understand. And cooperate, every member of the group should work in differents tasks, such as selecting the images, music, writing the slogan, the tips, editing the video. Together you can learn and build knowledge.

    Internet that can do a lot of work talking with friends …
    There are many websites and places to visit and things to do. But be careful with some impostors and chat with some looking for trouble.
    Because some people want something more to say and if anyone asked us any personal data must never give it it would put us harm, using this information to put in ads or answering or physical.
    On the Internet there are millions of places to visit like an infinite library data is almost everything.
    It can be used for school work, watching movies and live video.
    Look at the college you want to go or even look for work.
    Almost everything there is information and information not only blogs, videos and games can be downloaded or played online with other people.

    The text warns us about some of the threats on the Internet. Although it´s a great tool for everything you may want, you have to be very careful. Some of the tips that the text gives us are:

    Basically, you have to remain as anonymous as possible. You can get it if you never give out any private info of you, like your full name, your home address, your phone number, your social security number, passwords, credit card numbers, names of family members…
    Also, you have to be very careful too when you pick a nickname and a password for a website, a chat room… We shouldn´t give any hint about our real names, because hackers could take advantage of it.
    Of course, if you have any problem on the Internet and you get into trouble, tell an adult. He will help you.

    Finally, it´s highly recommendable that you install an anti virus to protect you from most of the Internet threats.

    – Don’t say the numbers of your credit cards.

    Well, the threat on the video is that you don’t really know who are you talking with and if you meet by yourself this person can be another person that may want to take advantage of you by different ways.

    To avoid it you shouldn’t meet people you new on The Internet and if you do so, go with an adult. (But I just rather not to meet’em)
